McCain is very good at misleading and allowing the moronic majority to continue to believe nonsense.

He makes it seem as if Ayers was talking about more bombs / destruction on 9-11. Ayers WAS NOT talking about 9-11, he just happen to make a idiotic comment around the time of attacks.

What he said was "“I don’t regret setting bombs…I feel we didn’t do enough.”

and he said when discussing his BOOK. Not 9-11.

He also continued to mislead the public about Osama Bin Laden and his responsibility for 9-11. If Osama was responsible OR there is a suspicion he was..... How come on the FBI most wanted list, it doesn't even make mention of it?

He said Sarah Palin is someone who "has done so many unusual things." I agree.

I actually feel badly for McCain. It really seems like his campaign has been hijacked and he has been forced to go along with it. He doesn't believe what he's saying here for a second.

Lets free him of this horrible campaign on Nov. 4th so he doesn't have to suffer through this anymore. Let him go back to being an occasionally reasonable republican, rather than whatever the hell he's running as.

Nicely taken view, gypsy! Nicely worded.

Boy I hope the vote is good.

We're on historic ground when talk shows are important and hell is the platform.

Er rr ... sorry Magnolia!

I am definitely biased - but I will admit that he handled himself well the first half, except for his squirming in regards to Dave demanding an explanation. "I screwed up", 2 or 3 times - he clearly did not want to describe his actions further.

The last 5 minutes were a little bit embarrassing. Much too clownish when driven to serious questions.

Thanks for posting the whole interview Norm.

I agree with you there Noah. You can clearly see on his face that he is pained by what comes out of his mouth at times.

Dave held McCain's feet to the fire more then anyone else in the media has.

His current campaign strategy is to mention Obama and Terrorist in the same sentence as often as possible for the next two weeks. I hope Dave doesn't let the bullshit he was fed go.

Dave gives me Hope.

I can only imagine how wonderful a Palin interview would be.

I liked when Dave mentioned G. Gordon Liddy and McCain had to get out of that one. So he concluded that section with "I'm proud of my association" w/Liddy and his son.

I have to agree with Magnolia:

Let's free him of this horrible campaign on Nov. 4th so he doesn't have to suffer through this anymore. Let him go back to being an occasionally reasonable republican, rather than whatever the hell he's running as.

I can not imagine having any respect for McCain after his flip flop on issues, campaign of lies and pick of runningmate. Her limited time in office was full of nepotism, hidden emails, and ethics violations (a la Bush). Reagan and Clinton had 100 times the experience before running. Plus she is no Rhodes scholar, or they would not have to HIDE HER.

Letterman at his very best!!! Especially in the 2nd half of the McCain interview! Good to see that both -at least somewhat- kept their sense of humor in all of this though.

Does McCain say "French" or "Fringe"?

I'm just getting around to watch the whole episode I DVR'd on Thursday.

It was not just the interview. Letterman pounded mercilessly on McCain the whole freaking episode, starting from the monologue, through a bit of what happened last time, with a map for clear explanation, to a Top Ten bit about Joe the Plumber.

Shite, they even got Olbermann to come back to sarcastically stand-by just in case.
