We're The Enemy
John Kasper
Land of the free, home of the brave
A nation cries old glory waves
How many more will have to die?
Until we open up our eyes
What will it take until we see?
We're the enemy
I'm tired of hatred, I'm tired of war
I'm tired of killing when we're not quite sure what the killing is for
God bless America we're not to blame
Do you think if he cares when we kill in his name?
We pledge allegiance to corporate greed
We will kill for the right to control all the oil that we need
We will reap what we sow yes an eye for an eye
Will you think that it's right when it's your child that dies?
Do as we say, not as we do
If you don't then the time will soon come when we're coming for you
If we're silent we're sinners, we must take a stand
Or repeat the mistakes we made in Vietnam
Another time, another place
A nation cried, old glory waved
Lessons learned forgotten fast
From the not so distant past
What will it take until we see?
We're the enemy
